Meet Dr. Tal Rapoport

Dr. Tal Rapoport relocated to the Bay Area after spending 15 years in Rochester, NY. After finishing her general dentistry education at Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 2006, she pursued advanced dental training in general dentistry and periodontology, receiving her Advanced General Practice degree and completing her Periodontology Residency at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) at the University of Rochester, NY.  She is also a recipient of the Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology award, the highest recognition of achievement awarded by the specialty.

As a highly trained and award-winning periodontist, Dr. Rapoport specializes in complicated periodontal procedures, including replacing lost or damaged teeth with dental implants and treating extensive periodontal disease. Dr. Rapoport is passionate about patient care and knows that no two patients are alike.  She devises evidence based customized treatment plans for patients where their comfort and individual needs are taken into account. Her deep sense of compassion stems from her own experience of having a low pain threshold. She knows firsthand how important it is to feel comfortable during any dental procedure and she takes great care to ensure her patients' concerns are addressed.

In addition to her patient practice, Dr. Rapoport spent several years as an Assistant Professor and Clinic Director at EIOH where she was able to guide a new generation of periodontists to become leaders in their profession. Mentoring and teaching for Dr. Rapoport is a very special experience from which she gets great satisfaction and fulfillment.   She was honored to receive the prestigious National Award for Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics from the American Academy of Periodontology. 

Dr. Rapoport has been an active member of her local and national dental and periodontal organizations, and has published in several peer-reviewed journals.

In her free time, Dr. Rapoport enjoys yoga, reading, do-it-yourself (DIY) home projects and spending time with her husband and their three children.
